Tony suggested at the Curry Queen I should see Babettes Feast. Logged on to Amazon to be told I could make £165 by selling my last 25 purchases! Amazing, what an excellent idea. Good grief, just scrolled to bottom, I have bought 112 books/records etc from them! The highest suggested price for one of the books is £77!! Better find it quick before dustjacket gets ripped!!

A neat site here to check your pop up killing abilities. Opera works 100%. Not sure about Proxomitron but it can be configured to do virtually anything. Just downloaded Prox and it works fine! well done Scott

Had lunch at Galleria (Cashew nut salad was excellent, good service, reasonable prices, great position) with Bettina today learned interesting way of making a mould for casting small parts - use a cuttlefish - you carve out shape in it clamp the two halves together and hey presto. So even jewellery is not vegetarian!.

Apparently the DJs at the Devonshire (Nick, Catherine, Elizabeth  have had a bust up with the owner) nett result is that African evenings will now be Thursdays in Howard Mallett centre - ugh!

Had long chat with Tony Yeldham (in charge of police helicopter) re Blog of July 27th. Explained in confidence the operational difficulties that they had that day, which was interesting, and that the march did not keep to prescribed route. Previous marches had spawned acts of vandalism, although I doubt they were on the scale of the City Council demolishing half the city centre to build a concrete jungle!. anyway apparently the airspace over the city is "owned by Marshalls airport" which is an interesting concept since when I complained to them , the control tower said the police operated under their own juridistiction!. What was also interesting is that how each police force is completly independent from each other. Anyway as a consolation prize he has offered for Em and I to visit their facilities at any time!
