Last problem with Treo600 was when using Ptunes to listen to MP3's and no sound was coming out - stupid me had disabled the loudspeaker with the cunning 'silence' switch on top of unit. Oh well Tim at www.normsoft.com the makers of Pocket-Tunes sent a smiley and said other people had contacted him as well. However still having problem with earpiece not working with MP3's although in US manual it indicates that maybe it shouldnt. I find that difficult to believe so will trog of into town to buy headphone adapter.
Its amazing the difference between the USA and UK manuals. The American one has a LOT more detail on how to use and keyboard shortcuts etc.

On the Treo600 after I ticked the option in Preferences/ keyguard / on a call box. The result was I found it impossible to terminate a call (it disables the screen box) I ended up pulling the SIM card out. The manual has no entry for terminating a call.
Thanks to Jay Tamboli on the Visacentral user group
From page 47 of the CDMA manual:
Do one of the following:
Choose Hang Up All [ you can do this with the five-way ]
Press Backspace
Press the headset button (if the headset is attached)

The new Treo600 seems about five times faster than Treo270 at doing searches etc which is very useful when you have a large database of names and messages etc (Treo270 typically took over 30 secs to search my database). The buttons feel much smaller and closer which makes pressing the option key and search key tricky, but just possible, for my 'shovel' hands. The keyboard is in fact (22% smaller in area).
Just received the new Treo600 from mobileshop to replace my Treo270 which I have had for 14months or should I say replace my fourth Treo270. The other three failing.
First impressions the Treo600 is 12.5% heavier at (180gm) than Treo270 (160gm). It appears smaller but in reality is just narrower and doesnt have the flip lid (two failures on old Treo270). However the viewable part of the screen is now 44 X44mm on the Treo600 instead of 48.75 X48.75mm on Treo270 a 18% reduction. The aerial is chunkier and longer (one failure on Treo270) and has moved.
It synchronized straight away with old Treo270 software bringing in all contacts etc etc . I had to load the new Avantgo software but it then worked fine.
The new SMS thread software is excellent, it found all the old SMS messages and neatly arranged them into threads - no more sending wrong message to wrong woman.

Last night we did the new eating out by eating in with a new service from a wok outfit in Mill Road, Cambridge, UK called 4u2wok telephone 01223 701111. The idea is you order stuff, from a leaflet, like a takeaway, except this is un-cooked food, so you have to wok it at home. Pretty tasty. However, you have to order before 8pm and it took them 40mins to deliver. An interesting idea although still not certain what a vegetarian duck looks like!

Today asked by blogger to do a survey to help in the future. Grim news the future is bleak cos it didnt ask what is the worse thing about blogger? my answer would have been inabilty for readers to add comments. So I guess its not going to happen. Obviously to controversial for the google folks. One of the questions was : Do you want to add search? Ugh! google does it already!
